A Crab in Time
This little fellow was discovered during a restoration of Travertine Stone. A bit of research revealed that “Travertine” is different than Marble or Granite. A sedimentary Limestone notably found in Tivoli Italy, 16 miles East of Rome that has a deposit 300 Feet deep and has been mined for at least 2000 years. That’s during the reign of Julius Caesar!!! Travertine began forming from hot mineral springs due to volcanic activity of Mt Etna and is estimated to have started forming 200,000 years ago!! So, this fellow has had many birthdays before our discovery.
